CONSERVATION & DEMAND MANAGEMENT OFFICER

PUC Services Inc. operates multiple utilities within and around the City of Sault Ste. Marie, including the supply and delivery of electricity and drinking water, energy services and the treatment of water and wastewater. 

You are the ideal candidate if you possess: 

  • a Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, preferably in the Electrical discipline, as well as some Accounting courses;
  • a Professional Engineering or CET designation or commitment to obtain one;
  • 3 years related experience in energy end uses, energy efficiency management technologies, and practices in an Commercial and Industrial setting;
  • working knowledge of the electric utility industry inclusive of related codes and regulations as well as the OEB, IESO and other government bodies;
  • strong computer skills with proven proficiency in Microsoft Suite;

  • demonstrated experience in delivering energy efficiency and demand management measures and/or skills in sales and customer engagement;

  • excellent strategic planning, presentation, written and oral communication skills;

  • demonstrated project management experience and the ability to manage multiple projects independently;

  • a valid Class “G” driver’s license and use of own transportation. 

 As a Conservation and Demand Management Officer the primary responsibilities of this position are as follows: 

  • Plan, coordinate, evaluate and deliver energy and water conservation and demand management programs within a defined budget; 

  • Manage all contracts related to  energy conservation and demand management and respond to related customer inquiries;

  • Perform site assessments, recommend energy efficiency measures and collaborate with customers to identify the benefits;

  • Conduct engineering technical evaluations and studies, business case analysis and conduct feasibility studies associated with CDM Programs and assist customer with the preparation of program applications; 

  • Build key relationships with all industry stakeholders, business groups and customers and conduct site visits at customer facilities to promote awareness;

  • Prepare reports for IESO, OEB and other government bodies.

  • Coordinate marketing plans for all energy conservation programs and internal /external communications (websites, advertising, publications, etc.)
