Job Description – Engineer – Electrical

 

Company Description: K-LINE INSULATORS LIMITED is a manufacturer of high voltage polymer insulators.  The company was established in 1983 with its head office located in Toronto.  Our products are distributed world-wide through a consolidated network of representatives.

Job Title: Junior Engineer - Electrical

 

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of polymer insulators.

• Assist in the development of specifications for insulator components (e.g., fittings, rod, primer, rubber, packaging, and hardware).

• Provide support to other departments on insulators.

• Recommend improvements in the manufacturing, assembly, and testing of insulators.

• Prepare and conduct electrical and mechanical tests on insulators.

• Assist in the commissioning of new tools and machinery.

• Assist in the resolution of problems that arise from Production or Suppliers.

• Assist in the investigation and resolution of customer technical issues on insulators.

• Provide electrical/mechanical stress analysis on insulators.

• Prepare test reports and catalogue information on insulators.

• Other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge

• Knowledge of high voltage insulators, transmission and distribution networks, and/or line design an asset

• Any other experience or knowledge with Power and Energy systems an asset

 

Skills

• AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MS Office

• Technical Writing

• Communication Skills both Oral and Written

 

Education

• University Degree in Electrical Engineering.

 

Other

• Ability to work cooperatively in a multidisciplinary environment
