ACCOUNTS CLERK II
The Orillia Power Distribution Corporation requires a highly motivated results oriented individual for the position of Accounts Clerk II. Reporting to the Controller, this unionized position is responsible for a variety of accounting, payroll and other finance department functions. The applicant will have demonstrated the following qualifications, which are essential to this position:
Minimum Qualifications Required:
College Diploma in a business program, preferably in accounting
Minimum of 3 years accounting and payroll experience
Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information appropriately
Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Outstanding organization and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others, develop successful relationships and resolve issues
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, make decisions, multitask and meet deadlines
Professional manner, desire to learn and ability to take responsibility and initiative
Ability to work in a fast paced environment, both independently and as a team member
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to identify and implement process improvements
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately prepare and process bi-weekly payroll and related reports
Prepare and remit statutory payroll deductions, employee benefit costs and deductions
Prepare and process journal entries
Maintain various payroll / staff reports including; sick, vacation, overtime, taxable benefits, etc.
Reconcile payroll and general ledger accounts in a timely manner
Review, code and process high volume of vendor invoices
Accurately maintain vendor records and respond to vendor inquires as required
Coordinate regular cheque runs and EFT processing
Maintain accurate filing system for invoices, payroll records and other department documentation
Develop, generate and analyze various financial reports
Assist with maintenance, upgrades and operation of accounting software system
Prepare audit working papers as required
