Responsibilities 

Reporting to the Manager, Purchasing & Stores, you will work toward position objectives at increasing levels of responsibility relative to your training and experience; objectives include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Maintain security of stock, material and stockroom equipment

  • Receive and check all incoming shipments for damage, correct material, quantity and match purchase orders

  • Manage inventory and transfers and ensure proper filing of stockroom documentation

  • Operate and document (maintenance logs) the use of various material handling equipment associated with receiving, stowing and shipping of materials and equipment

  • Maintain a clean and tidy stockroom and yard and maintain warehouse space, equipment, and supplies

  • Ensure an adequate supply of inventory goods to field and office staff in an efficient and timely manner; arrange for packaging, transportation, and/or delivery of goods

  • Comply with all federal and provincial legislation and industry codes, health and safety standards, and environmental standards and participate in regular Health and Safety meetings 

Qualifications 

  • Minimum 2 years of forklift experience loading and unloading trucks/trailers.

  • Minimum 3 years working experience in a role directly related to operation of a warehouse and inventory management system

  • Experience in a role requiring frequent use of MS office applications (Word & Excel).

  • Experience in a role requiring knowledge of Health and Safety legislation including OH&S Act, Electrical Utility Safety Rules, WHMIS, and TDG Act

  • Experience in a role requiring knowledge of relevant Environmental legislation

  • Experience in a role requiring knowledge of  technical specifications/standards including CSA, CEA, and ESA

  • Certification in an APICS registered designation (FMOM preferred)

  • Certified fork lift operator - "Counter Balance"

  • A High school diploma is required

  • Must have a class G driver’s license in good standing 

This is a full time position located in Burlington. Hours of work are 7:00am to 4:00pm with a half hour lunch and 2 -15 minute breaks. This is a unionized position and includes compensation and benefits in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
