Chief Executive Officer

 

EnWin Utilities, located in the vibrant and historically rich City of Windsor, Ontario, with a population of over 200,000, is seeking a Chief Executive Officer.  The CEO will have overall responsibility for the strategic direction and operational/financial results and will be accountable for overall performance of EnWin Utilities, the Windsor Utilities Commission, and EnWin Energy.  

The Chief Executive Officer will be required to determine strategy for, and take action on, a number of different business initiates in order to generate sustainable and profitable revenue, while leading the organization as it deals with a more competitive environment. 

As a well-qualified candidate for this position, you bring executive experience gained within a large, complex organization that is growing, changing and serving the interests of many stakeholders.  Ideally you have experience working closely with a Board of Directors, in a highly regulated environment, serving commercial, industrial, and residential customers, leading a team of highly talented executives, and being accountable for specific business results.  You are known for your financial and operations capability, your vision, your ability to get things done in a complex environment, and your ability to develop relationships across a broad spectrum.  

The leadership and communication style of the ideal candidate would be characterized as “involved with a collaborative and consensus building approach to decision-making.” 

The CEO will be open to actively gaining input and advice from staff and stakeholders before making decisions, while proactively keeping the Board aware of key policy issues.  Effective interpersonal skills including active listening, team building and working within a unionized environment are essential.  The successful candidate will relate well to all levels of the organization, and be highly visible.  

Additional requirements include a relevant University Degree, as well as private and/or public sector experience, with a solid business background, particularly in the disciplines of finance and marketing.  The CEO will also have the ability to establish strong business contacts and relationships with key industry stakeholders.  Experience in the utility sector would be advantageous.  If you are interested in leading a team of over 300 dedicated employees through this exciting juncture in the company’s history, please forward your resume directly to mayoro@citywindsor.ca by Friday, October 16, 2015.
