Project Planner – Chatham Office

Entegrus Powerlines, a progressive company dedicated to providing the highest level of service and a positive work environment, requires an experienced Project Planner. Reporting to the Manager of Engineering Services and Operational Projects, this position will provide administrative support for the scheduling and planning of distribution construction projects and activities.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Initiate and queue all work requests from various sources originating within and from outside of the company
Schedule each work activity in cooperation with the various departmental managers
Coordinate the creation of project schedules recognizing budget, resource and timeline constraints
Track progress to schedule and cost to budget, for all projects from start to finish, using various software tools, including Quadra estimation system
Attend and document project review meetings and follow up on assigned actions
Communicate with Electricians/Builders/Contractors/Homeowners to coordinate processing of: New Services, Planned Capital Work, Upgrades, Disconnect/reconnects, FIT/MicroFIT Activity
Track and manage project invoicing to third parties (e.g. private locates, relocations, damage claims) using the Quadra estimation system in cooperation with Accounting
Establish, track and publish key program metrics and ensure that completed work is catalogued and any affected assets are recorded in the appropriate corporate databases
Act as a key liaison between Engineering, Operations and Customer Service
Compile any and all related information, as requested by Management, while continuously seeking to improve the planning and scheduling processes with input from stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS:
Community college diploma in a technical or electricity related field and a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Minimum of two years project management experience or five years working, in a technical role, in the electrical distribution industry
Must have strong organizational skills including records management
Must demonstrate written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Must have sufficient understanding and experience in the electrical distribution business in order to gauge and appreciate project scope and scale, as well as providing a basis for discussions with contractors and electricians
Must be proficient in the use of common office productivity tools, such as Microsoft office
This is a permanent, full-time union position with compensation based on the IBEW Collective Agreement.
