Conservation and Demand Management (CDM) Coordinator

 

Aladaco Consulting Inc. is currently searching for a CONSERVATION AND DEMAND MANAGEMENT (CDM) CO-ORDINATOR to join our Conservation team. This is a full-time contract position dedicated to supporting the CDM business market portfolios of Burlington Hydro, Milton Hydro and Halton Hills Hydro. 

 

Position Objective:  The CDM Coordinator is the ‘hub’ of Aladaco’s CDM team and operations for our primary LDC clients. In this role, you will guide applications through the team workflow to maximize accuracy, efficiency and customer satisfaction. You use your outstanding organizational and data management skills to keep on top of all aspects of the CDM portfolio. 

Position Responsibilities

 1. Application Intake – Enter new saveONenergy applications into Aladaco’s CDM Management System (CDMMS) either through manual entry or through electronic import/upload as circumstances warrant. Primary objective in the basic application intake function is the properly associate applications with customer Accounts and Locations and enter the basic application data provided by the customer into the CDMMS (program, savings amount, estimated completion date etc.).

2. Quality Control Screening – For every application received, screen for completeness and accuracy. To the extent possible, the CDMMS will be configured to catch obvious anomalies but the ultimate responsibility for application accuracy rests with the CDM Coordinator. Check all supporting documents upload with the application against the mandatory documents required by program (by existence and type). CDM Coordinator will communicate directly to customer or applicant rep to notify them of any errors or missing documents. CDM Coordinator will check off each document type provided and a final Application QC checkbox in CDMMS that will confirm each application has been properly screened.

3. Application Forwarding – After the application quality control screening is complete, the CDM coordinator will assign the application to an Application Manager for further review and approval. Generally, the CDM Coordinator will make this determination on the basis of the program, technology type, incentive size. Where there is uncertainty about the assignment, the CDM Coordinator will confer with Aladaco management.

4. Application Updating – Update status, values and dates of applications manually, based on input from the Application Manager or Customer, or electronically using imported/uploaded data from the saveONenergy system. Where status change or new information requires action by Application Manager, CDM Coordinator will assign for follow up if the CDMMS does not do it automatically.

 5. Application Follow Up – The CDM Coordinator will perform outreach with applicants or applicant representatives to check on the status and condition of applications based on key milestones including, but not limited to:

  • Age of Application Saved as Draft

  • Age of Application Returned to Applicant for Review

  • Proximity to Estimated In-Service Date 

  • Age after Estimated In-Service Date without a status change

  • Age of Application in Post Project Submission Saved as Draft

  • Time elapsed since Post Project Submission without approval

6. Payment Processing – When applications have been approved for payment, the CDM Coordinator will assemble all requisite documentation to satisfy the specific needs of each LDC customer to enable Accounts Payable to issue payment to the customer. Key data regarding the payment, such as cheque # and issue date, will be entered into the CDMMS

7. Reporting: Run pre-configured reports as scheduled or on demand to satisfy LDC needs for status updates on CDM progress. When required, work with CDMMS Analyst or others to produce one-off or ad hoc reports on topics not covered in pre-configured reports.

8. CDMMS Performance: CDM Coordinator shall work closely with CDMMS analyst to ensure the CDMMS is operating in a manner that ensures data accuracy and timeliness, and optimizes the efficiency and productivity of the CDM team members. Where opportunities for changes or customizations exist, the CDM Coordinator shall bring these to the attention of the CDMMS Analyst and other users to determine their viability and potential benefit.

9. General: Participate in Aladaco and LDC meetings to develop strategies for customer engagement, marketing and general status reporting above and beyond what is available CDMMS. Participate in IESO webinars and meetings to stay up to date with program administrative requirements. Assist in the organization of customer events.

 

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have at least two years direct experience with Conservation and Demand Management programs, as administered by the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), in Ontario. This experience can be within CDM departments of Local Distribution Companies, service providers who manage or support CDM programs for LDC’s or as Applicant Representatives with contractors and vendors participating in the saveONenergy program. Experience using the IESO Customer Relationship Management platform (aka iCON) is mandatory. Knowledge and experience using Salesforce or other cloud-based customer relationship management systems is highly desirable. 

Candidates should possess a post-secondary degree or diploma. Technical proficiency in building and energy conservation technologies is advantageous but not required. A limited amount of work-related travel is required so candidates must have an automobile and valid driver’s license.
