As our new manager, you’ll grow and maintain our system’s integrity. You’ll use your excellent leadership skills to manage and organize your team to expand the use of smart metering and MV90, plan our asset management to support our capital budget and help us meet our conservation targets as defined by the OEB.

Responsibilities

 

For this role your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Preparing annual corporate budgets and 10 year forecast capital budgets

  • Preparing load forecasts, providing monthly OEB system performance metrics and maintaining the corporate asset management plan

  • Leading metering services initiatives including implementation, testing, verification, validation and reporting of smart metering and MV90

  • Supervising, training, coordinating and leading metering staff to perform excellent work

  • Ensure day-to-day work is managed on budget and all projects completed in a timely manner.

  • Maintain awareness and compliance associated with developments in the metering field and with measurement rules and regulations.

  • Providing input to energy and conservation initiatives including preparation of strategic plans to meet government requirements, reconciling and reporting on costs and supporting filings to all government and regulatory bodies

  • Monitoring OEB, Ministry of Energy and other bodies for new legislation or regulations that impact Burlington Hydro

  • Maintaining health and safety responsibilities to make sure all work is conducted within the company’s policies, programs and applicable legislation

     

     

     

 

Qualifications

 

  • Experience in a management role

  • Experience in the utility industry

  • Experience preparing and administering budgets

  • Experience working with OEB regulations and Smart Meter Technology

  • Experience leading metering initiatives

  • Working knowledge of measurement Canada Rules/Regulations and ESA 22/09 RegulationsCollege Diploma or University Degree in electrical engineering or a related field

  • OACETT certification or Journeyperson Metering Technician

  • Experience in a role with leading conservation initiatives

 

This is a full-time position in Burlington, Ontario.
