Golden Horseshoe Metering Systems Inc. (GHMS) is a leader in the supply and installation of Multi-Dwelling smart metering systems having retro-fitted numerous condominiums in Southern Ontario for various prominent Utilities. GHMS has also provided individual suite metering for many new Multi-Dwelling projects. Its primary business is marketing and provision of Multi-Dwelling smart metering services including new construction and retro-fitting of existing buildings.

 

QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER

 

Reporting to the Director of Golden Horseshoe Metering Systems, the Quality Assurance Manager position is responsible for the end-to-end quality management of the Meter Shop Operation (MSO) and Measurement Canada S-E-04 Field Inspections. This includes ensuring all regulatory and internal requirements related to handling, verifying, installing and servicing of metering equipment is met, leading process improvement/optimization and the planning and execution of MSO business expansion. This position will require a great deal of organizational and communication skills while working collaboratively with a number of internal/external customers and vendors.  This role requires a high level of attention to detail, the ability to multitask and balance a number of different projects with various complexities in a fast paced environment. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Oversees all MSO activities including maintenance and calibration of test consoles, quality record keeping, adherence to the MSO Quality Management System and any applicable standards and regulations from Measurement Canada including the quality assurance of field S-E-04 inspections

  • Operates and maintains MSO equipment to conduct final testing, verification and revivification of meters and sub-metering systems as per Measurement Canada regulations

  • Seeks new opportunities and business growth for the MSO by cultivating relationships with current/new customers and the expansion of meter verification accreditation with Measurement  Canada

  • Ensures quality and accuracy of the data and information delivered to customers

  • Oversees workflow planning to ensure effective coordination of meter testing and sealing in order to meet customer requirements

  • Ensures any relevant Measurement Canada updates are implemented as required

  • Provides technical support and training to MSO Meter Calibration Technicians 

  • Introduces and implements process improvements/optimization

  • Sets and maintains budgets and tracks P&L

Applicants for this position should have the following qualifications:

 

  • Post –Secondary degree/diploma (Electrical Engineering, Electrical Diploma) or equivalent work experience

  • Ability to develop and implement process improvements/optimization

  • Ability to influence, negotiate, build relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels

  • Working knowledge of Measurement Canada legislation and regulations

  • ISO 9000/9001 Experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Strong leadership skills and team building skills

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Proficient computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • A strong safety awareness
