REGIONAL ENERGY MANAGER (REM)

One year - renewable

Conservation & Energy Services

 

Under the general direction of the Supervisor, Energy Efficiency Services  (Administrative and Technical) is responsible  to identify, report and implement energy saving opportunities amongst the service territories of Atikokan Hydro Inc., Fort Frances Power Corporation, Kenora Hydro Electric Corporation Ltd., and Sioux Lookout Hydro Inc.,  for those utilities’ large commercial, industrial and institutional customers.  The position is for an initial one year term and must achieve a minimum annual electricity savings of 2000 MWh. 

Qualifications:

Mandatory:  

Certified Engineering Technician and/or Technologist, Professional Engineer, Certified Energy Manager or qualifications deemed suitable by LDC.  Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication, customer service and interpersonal skills.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.  Must be self-motivated and be proficient in the use of computers and related software. 

Must be competent within the meaning of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and demonstrate superior health, safety, and environmental responsibility. 

Preferred: 

Experience in industrial applications and processes or in energy applications in an institutional/industrial/commercial environment.  Have a good understanding of electrical theory, electromechanical systems, lighting systems, air-conditioning, heating systems and building science.  Have a good understanding of construction techniques and the ability to read technical drawings.
