EnWin Utilities Ltd. is currently accepting applications for the position of:

 

Supervisor Health and Safety 

The Supervisor, Health and Safety provides expertise on health and safety related concerns, guides management staff on regulatory compliance and program development, investigates health and safety issues and concerns while administering an effective Health and Safety management system. The incumbent assists in the establishment of safety program goals, objectives and KPI's, implements and maintains performance and monitoring strategies for health and safety, reports in various forums and formats on safety system performance and acts as the principle point of contact for the organization in dealings with regulatory, licensing and inspecting agencies related to health, safety and the environment. 

The successful applicant must have the following skills and abilities: 

  • University Degree or College Diploma in Health and Safety; OR 

  • Combination of comparable education, utility sector skilled trade experience and Health and Safety designation (or the ability to obtain) 

  • Preference will be given to those with Hydro related experience 

  • Minimum of 3 years' working experience, preferably in the Utility sector in a unionized environment 

  • Comprehensive knowledge and application of health and safety legislation and regulations 

  • Knowledge and experience with reporting requirements, standards, practices and administration 

  • Knowledge of utility sector specific lock-out/tag-out, confined space entry, rescue and fall arrest 

  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with all internal and external stakeholders 

  • Ability to effectively facilitate the collaboration of work teams 

  • Demonstrated project planning skills, ability to prioritize and oversee several responsibilities concurrently 

  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills 

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Health and Safety reporting software
