SYSTEM CONTROL SUPERVISOR

Power Systems Division

 

Under the general direction and guidance of the Operations Superintendent, the System Control Supervisor is responsible for supervising the System Control Operators, coordinating distribution switching activities with internal and external stakeholders, and contributing to both TBH’s internal program and external communication objectives, including the monitoring and resolution of issues related to contracted service performances and other internal systems as required. 

Qualifications:

Mandatory:

Mearie Certified System Operator, Electrical or Power System Operator or equivalent; or an equivalent combination of related education and experience. Thorough knowledge of 4kV, 12kV and 25kV power distribution systems. Experience in job planning and project management. Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, front line leadership and teamwork principles. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, decision making and communication (verbal and written) skills. Good writing skills and reading comprehension. Excellent internal and external customer service skills. Must be self-motivated, well organized and have a high commitment to safety. Must have the ability to multi-task, be very detail oriented and be able to adapt to sudden changes in priorities. Be able to remain calm in emergency situations and handle other stress associated with the position. 

Preferred:

Minimum of 3 years Supervisory experience in an electrically related trade and or in a power distribution / industrial process control room. Prior experience with AutoCAD v2010 or higher, Lotus Notes (email) and or SunGard HTE enterprise systems. Technical knowledge and understanding of the OHSA, UWPC, EUSR, WHMIS (GHS). Proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications including MS Access and a typing proficiency of at least 20 wpm. Knowledge of and or experience with operating/programming SCADA / DCS platforms. Prior experience with Survalent’s SmartVU GUI application. Prior experience with two –way VHF digital radio communications and CCTV / security monitoring equipment.
