Protection and Control Technologist

The successful applicant must have: 

• Three year college program in electrical technology
• Exceptional leadership, planning, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Class “G” Ontario driver’s licence.
• Five years experience in relaying, metering, control and communications work, preferably within an electrical utility.
• Strong background in SCADA and Ethernet communications

The successful applicant will be required to: 

• Install, commission and maintain SCADA, Load Control, Distribution Automation, Substation Protective Relaying-Metering Control and the Communication Networks for these systems.
• Participate in the planning and design of the above systems.
• Participate in the analysis and studies related to the technical and economic feasibility of Utility projects.
• Maintain a professional working relationship with customers.
• Responsibility for new substation or substation upgrade projects.
