Position Purpose:

The Specialist, GRE&T Centre will provide project management support to implement the plans for the Green Energy & Technology Centre (GRE&T) in Guelph. 

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of the strategic plan and business plan for the GRE&T Centre, by providing project management support to implement these plans
  • Provide administrative support for the Transitional Advisory Committee (TAC) for the GRE&T Centre
  • Research and benchmark again other similar centers and accelerators to bring forward best practices
  • Support communication, community and stakeholder engagement and funding strategy for the GRE&T Centre
  • Collaborate with potential academic, municipality, industry and technology partners on relationship building and project development
  • The position will be based out of Alectra Vaughan office but will require travel to Guelph, other Alectra offices or out-of-town meetings
  • Other duties as assigned 

Skills & Qualifications: 

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited post-secondary institution, preferably in the fields of sustainability, energy or engineering 

Specialized knowledge

  • Work with and/or engage diverse stakeholders
  • Work with start-ups or technical related organizations
  • Facilitate and convene events and stakeholder engagement
  • Proficiency with MS Office application 

Experience

  • 2 years’ experience working in project management
  • Knowledge  or and experience working in the Utility/Energy sectors and/ or at an Accelerator is an asset 

Skills/Abilities/Competencies

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented and thorough, with the ability to work successfully in fast-paced teams
  • Entrepreneurial approach
  • Strong strategic, analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with deadlines and consistently follow through to completion of assigned projects
  • Creative and proactive in solving problems
  • Energetic and enthusiastic team player to overall success of the organization 

*1 year contract
