(18 Month Contract)

Newmarket-Tay Power Distribution Ltd. (NT Power) delivers power with pride to 52,300 customers within the Town of Newmarket, Township of Tay and Town of Midland. We require a highly motivated Customer Service Representative who thrives on people and detail to provide a complete package of customer care services. Working in a team environment at our head office at 590 Steven Court in Newmarket, Ontario and reporting to the Senior Customer Services Representative, you will be the primary contact for NT Power customers, in person or on the telephone for the basic administration of their accounts. Your responsibilities will include account maintenance, payment arrangements and general inquiries. You will answer customer questions and resolve issues relating to billings, service information, final readings, service charges and collections. You will also follow up with customers on past due accounts, payment arrangements and disconnections of service. Working within established company policies and procedures, you will discuss and initiate with customers their payment arrangements and security deposit arrangements, and process bankruptcy and receivership documents. You will also be the first contact to welcome new customers and set up their service arrangements. Your responsibilities will include ensuring accurate digital recording and documentation of customer account data.

To be considered for this position, you should have a minimum of Grade 12 education; proficiency in using computers and Microsoft Office programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook); tact and diplomacy; the ability to multi-task and work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team environment of customer service professionals; comfort in working with financial data and the ability to apply rates to calculate a bill; excellent verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills; and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Previous experience in a customer service role in the energy or a related sector, while desirable, is not a prerequisite for applying.
