About the role:

The Supervisor – Metering, Grid Intelligence and Automation is accountable to supervise and oversee the day to day operations of the Meter and P&C Technicians. This position will be an active participant in the energy and infrastructure community interacting with colleagues and contributing to the growth of the OEC family of companies.

As a member of the corporate management team your accountabilities include:

Automation, Protection and Control Accountabilities

  • Supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of P&C technicians to ensure safe and efficient operations
  • Plan all equipment maintenance to conform to the Ontario Energy Board distribution code
  • Schedule P&C related equipment maintenance, repairs and upgrades, and capital projects in line with Asset Management Process guidelines
  • Technical lead in the P&C team for SCADA, station & systems troubleshooting, and RTU & IED programming
  • Coordinate substation shutdowns, breaker isolations, & Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) maintenance and testing with the Control Room Supervisor and staff 

Metering and Grid Intelligence Accountabilities

  • Supervise, plan and schedule day to day work for Meter employees
  • Supervise the installation and maintenance of C&I Metering for general service customers and Smart Metering for Oakville Hydro customers
  • Operation and maintenance of the AMI network
  • Ensure all metering adheres to Measurement Canada and OEB Regulations
  • Ensure accurate meter data, meter information, and support provided to customer billing 

Qualifications and work experience: 

  • Certified Engineering Technologist – registered with OACETT or Bachelor in Engineering
  • Experience in coordinating projects or supervision of technical personnel
  • Two or more years’ experience in the industry or equivalent related utility experience
  • Three or more years of demonstrated excellent supervisory experience
