About the role:

The Supervisor, Distribution and Smart Grid Operations is accountable for the power line crews and external contractors working on Oakville Hydro’s distribution system. The main focus of this position is to deliver flawlessly the convenience that our products and services provide to our customers. You will be an active participant in the energy and infrastructure community interacting with colleagues and contributing to the growth of the OEC family of companies.

As a member of the corporate management team you will:

  • Lead a group of professional technicians, including establishing goals and training requirements, performance evaluations, and coaching
  • Be a safety leader - ensuring safe, efficient, and timely completion of all required tasks in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act & Regulations, the Electrical Utility Safety Rules, and Oakville Hydro Policies & Procedures ensuring work is being performed to Oakville Hydro expectations
  • Plan, organize, schedule, assign and supervise employee and contractor activities engaged in the construction, installation, repair and maintenance of the overhead and underground electrical distribution system
  • Collaborate with the Engineering and Construction Department for project planning, management, design, and material requirements 

Qualifications and work experience:

  • Graduate of a related Technical program, CET, PLT, P.Eng or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in coordinating projects or supervision of technical personnel
  • Two or more years’ experience in the industry or equivalent related utility experience
  • Three or more years of demonstrated excellent supervisory experience
