For over 25 years, we've delivered energy conservation programs for utilities, agencies and Government, assisting homeowners and businesses across Ontario to reduce their energy and environmental footprint. We deliver saveONenergy programs for nearly 50 Ontario electric and gas utilities. 

Job Description:

Full time / Permanent Reporting To: President & CEO, GreenSaver; or to another person designated by the President & CEO Location: 74 Six Point Road, Toronto 

Objective:

The Director of Office Operations is responsible for the direction and coordination of the back-office operations of the organization; consisting of the project/file administration, engineering modelling, weatherization project planning and oversight, QA/QC processes as well as other necessary duties. An effective leader and change agent, you will enable the corporate vision and strategies by leading a team of Managers in the delivery of operational excellence, across GreenSaver, and helping it achieve greater productivity and effectiveness. 

As a member of the Executive Team, you will assist with developing business strategies and lead the development and implementation of operating plans. With the help of a skilled management team, your focus will be to ensure that great service is delivered, funding expectations are met, and operational efficiency is improved. You will also challenge, develop and support individuals to achieve their full potential and achieve exceptional operational results. We require a dynamic individual with a strategic perspective, the drive to achieve excellence, as well as the ability to roll up her/his sleeves and to manage the resolution of individual operational issues. An advanced university degree is preferred, as is relevant business experience. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Overall management for all office operations in the Project Administration, Weatherization, QA/QC & Compliance processes
  • Reporting to this position (initially) will be the Manager of Quality Assurance & Compliance and the Manager of Weatherization
  • Be integral in taking GreenSaver to the next level of performance; and achieving the Company’s ambitious growth and profitability targets through cost-efficient and effective operational delivery 
  • Ensure the Company and individual departments are set up to scale and conform to the corporate needs. This includes implementing organizational structural changes and improving work flows while maintaining GreenSaver’s entrepreneurial drive in business development opportunities.
  • While reporting directly to the CEO, you will work very closely with the Executive Team, across all levels and all areas of the organization. You will help identify opportunities for improvement and ‘make it happen’
  • Provide operational leadership, direction and support to Managers to achieve operating targets by:
    • Mentoring and leading the management team
    • Monitoring revenue margins
    • Overseeing employee productivity
    • Researching and implementing new processes for increased efficiency and effectiveness
  • Work closely with the senior executives of Customer Service and Program Delivery, Field Operations, Information Technology and Business Development, to ensure full coordination in program and consumer/private operational delivery
  • Conduct various business analyses and build financial models to inform and advise on business decisions
  • Stay on top of market trends and the competitive landscape. Constantly look for market opportunities and ideas to create more value for our customers by doing research and speaking with our customers and partners
  • Find, establish, nurture and manage partnership and business opportunities in the operations delivery area
  • Work closely with Finance & Administration in operational improvements in purchasing, inventory management, field service delivery and other operational areas
  • Lead and support major projects and initiatives related to operational and service delivery improvements; manage various improvement projects and day-to-day operational tasks
  • Provide direction for and management of all technology integration for the organization
  • Work closely with the President & CEO to prepare strategic and tactical operations plans to support the organization’s initiatives
  • Plan, evaluate and monitor operational performance and ensure cost effective processes and procedures are in place, implemented and realized
  • Manage the performance of direct reports, including the ongoing evaluation of performance, terminations, etc.
  • Work closely with the Consultant Human Resources Specialist and the Executive Management Team to implement leadership and engagement strategies that will fully engage staff, resulting in increased retention and overall improved employee satisfaction
  • Identify leadership development needs and work with internal departments to deliver on a leadership development strategy to achieve GreenSaver’s strategic vision and leadership requirements for the future
  • Identify patterns and problem areas, and implement effective solutions to increase efficiency
  • Effectively present and communicate information relating to operations needs and initiatives to GreenSaver’s President & CEO, and to the Executive Team, including the facilitation of management meetings, as required 
  • Drive culture change and organizational values across GreenSaver
  • Other roles and duties, as periodically determined by the President & CEO

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 8-10 years in an operations management role; extensive management experience
  • An advanced university degree in business, building science or engineering is preferred (years of direct industry and business experience may be taken into consideration in lieu of a university degree in business)
  • A track record of achieving business results (Experience in conservation/CDM/DSM management, while not mandatory, would be considered valuable)

Compensation

Compensation consists of Base salary, a performance bonus, determined by Scorecard and KPI achievement, and full company benefits, consisting of regular benefits and GreenSaver EcoBenefits
