President and Chief Executive Officer

Ottawa River Power Corporation (ORPC) is in search of a President and CEO. ORPC is a local electricity distributor serving 11,000 customers in the communities of Pembroke, Beachburg, Killaloe and Almonte. 

The President is tasked with providing strong leadership for the company by working with the Board of Directors to establish short and long-term goals, plans and strategies. The position is responsible for presiding over the entire workforce, managing budgets and ensuring that resources are allocated properly. 

The President will make sure departments meet their individual goals and are responsible for overall accountability to shareholders and the general public. The President will act as the public face of the Corporation and must have both an entrepreneurial mindset and the flexibility to quickly adapt to changes in the marketplace. 

The President also serves as CEO for a separate affiliate Corporation, Ottawa River Energy Solutions Inc. 

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications or similar sets of skills, education and experience: 

• University or college graduate in business, finance, engineering or other relevant education
• Five to ten years’ experience in the Ontario distribution sector with knowledge of regulations, policies and procedures that affect the corporation
• A proven track record in senior management in the energy distribution sector
• A history of Innovative planning with a vision of the future for the corporation
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire people to action
• High levels of emotional intelligence
• Exceptional communications skills
