Elexicon Energy is a regulated electricity distribution company that delivers electricity to approximately 169,000 homes and businesses located in ten municipalities in east-central Ontario. Elexicon Energy was created in 2019 by the merger of Whitby Hydro Energy Services and Veridian Corporation. With approximately 250 employees, the company is the fourth largest municipally owned electricity distributor in Ontario and is owned by five municipalities: Whitby, Pickering, Ajax, Belleville and Clarington.
Reporting to the Board of Directors of Elexicon Energy, the new President & CEO of Elexicon Energy will lead the company forward as it completes its cultural integration and executes the four pillars of its strategy. At the core of this role is a focus on bringing people together, developing executive and operational capacity, ensuring performance toward well-defined objectives, and building robust relationships within the communities Elexicon serves as well as the electricity industry.
To be a well-qualified candidate for this position, you combine a record of success in senior executive roles with experience aligning an organization, implementing strategy and leading change. You are known for a host of personal attributes that signify today’s top utility executives: ability to deliver tangible results; openness; transparency; honesty; ability to build and maintain relationships widely; collaborativeness; decisiveness when discussions become mired; political savvy without being political; customer-centricity; financial acumen; commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, experience working with boards and an uncompromising approach to Health, Safety and the Environment.
Knowledge of the electricity sector would be a definite asset, as would experience and/or training in Board Governance.
