We are seeking a highly skilled an energetic IT Analyst to join our Information Technology team based at our head office in Newmarket.

Compensation and benefits are as per the Collective Agreement. 

Position Summary

Reporting to the Information Technology Manager you will be the first point of contact in the provision of IT support services to staff at all levels of the organization. 

Responsible to provide technical assistance and support related to computers systems, hardware, and software from within the organization. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the maintenance, of company websites and intranet.
  • Assisting in upgrades and maintenance to minimize disruption to ongoing operations.
  • Works with and supports the NT Power Helpdesk Ticket System.
  • Ensures security / privacy of networks and computer systems through the application of NT Power’s Cybersecurity policy and procedures.
  • Installation, configuration and ongoing support of laptops, PCs, and workstations with all the necessary hardware, software and devices and conducts checks for functionality.
  • Installs and configures appropriate software and functions according to specifications and requirements.
  • Assists in the development of local networks to optimize performance and reliability.
  • Supports Business Process Documentation maintaining complete and accurate records of installations, disposals, changes and maintenance.
  • Monitors software licensing and compliance and brings to the IT Manager’s attention any non-compliance issues needing resolution.
  • Identifies the need to upgrade or replace hardware and software and prepares necessary procurement documentation.
  • Assists in designing and delivering orientation and training sessions for employees on new/upgraded systems and software.
  • Assists in preparing updates, reports and presentation to the Senior Management Team. 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Postsecondary education with a diploma in Computer Sciences, or a related field.
  • Certification at the entry-level or above would be desirable in one or more of the following: Cisco CCENT, Cisco CCT, Microsoft MTA, MCSA, MCSE, CISSP, VMW are VCA, VCP, CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ and CSA}.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills to work effectively, both independently and in a team environment, set priorities and handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills to build and maintain confidence in and utilization of NT Power IT resources.
  • Valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s license in good standing.
  • 2 years’ experience in an IT support role.
