As an Engineering Technologist with a can-do attitude, you will prepare and design construction projects in one of three areas: overhead electrical distribution system, underground electrical distribution system or customer service connections and perform all associated project management functions until completion of construction.

Your excellent time management, planning skills and ability to multitask allow you to prepare estimates, work schedules, generate material lists and order material consistent with project time lines.

Advanced verbal and written communications skills enable you to coordinate activities with various stakeholders, providing guidance, instruction and direction to outside parties in response to inquires regarding modifications to the electrical distribution system, negotiating and acquiring easements, permits, consent and approvals prior to the start of construction.

Intermediate AutoCAD and MS Office skills, along with problem solving, critical thinking and trouble shooting skills are required.

With a diploma from a recognized Electrical Engineering Technology program or related discipline, and the ability to acquire a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation within 3 years. You have intermediate knowledge of utility construction standards, along with industry regulations and standards, AC electrical theory and construction and surveying methods.

Preference will be given to those candidates with 1 – 3 years utility experience and those with more experience may be considered for a more senior role.
