Job Description

“ OUTSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE “

 

Responsibilities 

  • Reporting to the Sales & Marketing Manager.
  • Responsible for coordinating all aspects of outside sales for all products and services for their territories.
  • Responsible for obtaining all appropriate tenders and other quotation materials.
  • Responsible for the timely and appropriate administration of all aspects of sales including; tenders, quotations, sales orders, order acknowledgements, freight requirements, packaging, etc.
  • Liaise with customers regarding tender documents, quotations, sales orders, freight quotations & requirements, etc.
  • To input all related information pertaining to a customer’s purchase order, including delivery dates, pricing and special notations as required.          
  • Provide detailed quotations and information per specifications outlined in the customer’s tender documents.            
  • Liaise with the Plant personnel regarding delivery times, customer drawings, technical specifications required.
  • Responsible for new business development, including Strategic Business Alliances
  • Seeks and proposes New Product Development Opportunities and assists the Engineering Department with Product Approvals.
  • Proposes and manages programs to achieve sales growth objectives.
  • Proposes effective Sales and Marketing strategies and direction.
  • Maintains existing business, including Strategic Business Alliances.
  • Proposes marketing and advertising including advertising materials, strategies and plans.
  • With the assistance of the Engineering Department, develop all technical brochures and maintain such in all appropriate media (such as hard copy, digital versions, etc.)
  • Ensure that the corporate website is maintained and kept up to date.
  • Lead participation and prepare materials, etc. in all aspects of marketing including; managing the logistics of presentation of products at exhibitions, attending product exhibitions, and prepare responses to customers as a result of enquiries at the exhibitions.
  • Proposes and participates in Customer Visits to KLI facilities.
  • Prepares and delivers Customer Presentations.
  • Provides Customer Feedback to all appropriate KLI Stakeholders.
  • Conducts Sales and Marketing Studies.
  • Provides various periodic reports to Management, as required.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of customer service is at its highest possible level.
  • Provide the highest possible and most effective level of customer service.
  • Other duties as required.         

Knowledge & Skills 

  • Computer literature:  Microsoft Word and Excel, Marketing and Sales software.
  • Knowledge of ACCPAC Order Entry would be beneficial.                        
  • Utility product knowledge would be beneficial. 

Experience 

  • A minimum of five years experience in a sales and marketing environment.
  • Experience in technical sales support preferred.

Education 

  • Studies in sales and marketing. 

Professional Affiliations 

  • None required.   

Other 

  • Ability to work cooperatively in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Fluency in other languages (e.g. French) is desirable.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
