Financial Clerk

Lakeland Holding Ltd. is seeking a responsible, passionate, and energetic individual to fill the role of Financial Clerk. Lakeland Holding Ltd. is the parent company for Lakeland Power Distribution Ltd, Bracebridge Generation Ltd. and Lakeland Energy Ltd./Lakeland Networks, and is located in Huntsville, Ontario.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Controller.

• Perform Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Collection functions for multiple operating entities
• Matching daily invoices to purchase orders and investigate discrepancies
• Process checks, EFT payments, cash receipts and other financial transactions
• Assist with monthly general journal entries
• Processing, reviewing, and reconciling sales invoices for customers.
• Establish professional relationships by offering superior customer service
• Maintain and update the monthly reports and email the updated reports to the appropriate employees
• Perform account reconciliations
• ‪Prepare bank deposits
• ‪Investigate and resolve customer queries
• ‪Communicate effectively with internal/external customers via phone, email, mail or personally 

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a financial clerk
• Post-secondary education in business/accounting an asset
• Previous accounting work experience, particularly in A/R and Collections
• Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and financial transactions
• Results driven with strong communication and organizational skills
• Familiarity with financial regulations. ie: IFRS, GAAP
• Customer focused, a self-starter and an independent worker
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Programs
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains or similar software
