Journeyperson Powerline Technician

GrandBridge Energy is looking for a qualified Journeyperson Powerline Technician to join our Cambridge Operations Team. The candidate must be proficient with the construction of overhead and underground electrical distribution systems. Technical knowledge on the operation of the electrical distribution system, as well as electrical equipment and mapping is required. You are experienced in the troubleshooting and repair of the electrical distribution system and can apply all aspects of the Electrical Utility Safety Rules, Book 7 Traffic Manual and relevant aspects of the Company Health and Safety program to all work. An excellent attendance record and the ability to continually demonstrate safe working habits and mechanical aptitude is required. You will be required to perform regular stand-by duties and assist with emergency callouts as required. You must be a self-starter with an ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions from supervisors and peers. You will also be organized and demonstrate an ability to focus with attention to detail. You are expected to be competent with all aspects of the loading and operating requirements for digger and aerial device trucks, as well as associated rigging techniques. You must be able to work in a physically demanding environment that includes heavy lifting, stretching and pulling, climbing, working at heights and extreme weather conditions. The ability to be proficient in an evolving computer environment and associated software programs is an asset.
You must possess a Powerline Certificate of Qualification with Journeyperson status. Interprovincial Red Seal certification is considered an asset. We require a valid driver’s record in good standing, with a DZ or Restricted AZ licence. The successful candidate must be able to respond to our service center within 30 minutes to meet on call requirements of the position.
