Design, Development & Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities 

• Design and develop insulators.
• Develop specifications for insulator components (e.g., materials, fittings, rod, primer, rubber, packaging, and hardware).
• Provide support to QA on testing insulators.
• Provide technical support to Sales & Marketing on quotes and tenders.
• Recommend improvements in the manufacturing, assembly, and testing of insulators.
• Solve problems that arise from Manufacturing or Suppliers.
• Prepare and conduct electrical and mechanical tests on insulators.
• Investigate and resolve customer technical issues on insulators.
• Assist in the commissioning of new tools and machinery.
• Conduct mechanical, electrical, etc. stress analysis studies.
• Assist in the commissioning of new tools and machinery.
• Design and develop jigs and fixtures to aid in the manufacturing, assembly, and testing of insulators.
• Design and develop tools and machinery for the manufacturing, assembly, and testing of insulators.
• Develop specifications for tools and machinery.
• Provide support to Production on tools and machinery.

Knowledge & Skills 

• AutoCAD
• MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook, Internet
• Solid Works
• PLC Programming
• Technical Writing
• Presentation & Verbal Communication Skills
• Project management, project coordination, cost analysis & project scheduling.
• Element Analysis Software.

Experience 

• Must have 5 to 10 years experience in electrical design, designing jigs, fixtures, tools, & machinery in Manufacturing Plant or with an Electric Utility.
• Preferred experience in polymer injection molding process & equipment.

Education 

• University Degree in Engineering.

Membership 

• Certified P. Eng.
