Business Analyst – Customer Service

 

 

Kitchener-Wilmot Hydro Inc. is a local distribution company that is responsible for distributing electricity safely and reliably to more than 95,000 homes and businesses within the City of Kitchener and the Township of Wilmot.

 

 

The Business Analyst is a full-time position reporting to the Manager of Customer Services in the Customer Services Department. This position will focus on understanding and documenting business needs and regulatory requirements in Customer Services leading to the planning, design and development of business processes and systems. The candidate will ideally spend time on various functions (planning, requirements gathering and reporting). The candidate will partner closely with various developments across the company to provide the necessary guidance and technical translation to ensure each department has the information they need to be effective, successful, and remain agile. The successful candidate will be motivated, self-starting, flexible, and passionate.

 

Qualifications

  • Has strong experience working with data and projects delivering analytics.
  • Possesses strong analytical background with report development experience, database knowledge, and the ability to translate information into meaningful and presentable formats.
  • Can create and execute project plans with minimal supervision and guidance.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years' experience as a business analyst.
  • A good working knowledge of productivity software, typically Microsoft Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Can effectively engage customers to understand business needs and discover requirements.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Good prioritization, organizational and time management skills while understanding and accounting for business priorities.
  • Can interact effectively with management, fellow team members, and outside stakeholders.
  • Can work independently and in group settings.
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Some supervisory or experience leading teams would be an asset.
  • Experience working at an electric utility is an asset.
