Purchaser/Stockkeeper

PURCHASER/STOCKKEEPER

InnPower Corporation is the local distribution company serving more than 18,000 customers in the Town of Innisfil and south Barrie, located north of Toronto near the shores of Lake Simcoe. This is a union position, working 40 hours per week. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

DUTIES:

• Planning, organizing and managing the procurement of distribution materials. Ensure optimal inventory levels are maintained.
• Ensuring that all sourcing and purchasing activities are in accordance with the corporate purchasing policy, guidelines and government legislation.
• Preparing and issuing purchase orders.
• Ensuring quarterly inventory cycle counts are completed and discrepancies are addressed in a timely manner.
• Receiving and issuing inventory and ensuring records are maintained on a timely basis.
• Scheduling maintenance of the organization’s fleet.
• Managing and maintaining Stores warehouse and yard.
• Responsible for miscellaneous maintenance tasks in the office.
• Ensuring all environmental laws are adhered to for oil sampling, movement of scrap, spills, etc.
• Maintaining updated Material Data Safety Sheets.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS 

• Post secondary education in a business/finance/accounting would be an asset.
• Certified purchasing designation would be an asset.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others.
• Good knowledge of the full life cycle of procurement for goods and services.  
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Good physical strength.
• Experience with Great Plains software would be an asset.
• Valid forklift certification would be an asset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
