Erie Thames Powerlines is a licensed electricity distribution company servicing over 18,000 customers throughout South Western Ontario.

Erie Thames Powerlines currently welcomes applicants to the position of Manager, Metering, MSP & Field Services. This is an ongoing position starting immediately. Our office is located in Ingersoll, Ontario, offering a short commute to London or Kitchener / Waterloo and the benefits of the local, small town community.

The Manager, Metering, MSP & Field Services is a vital member of our management team and oversees the daily coordination and completion of all metering activities.

Erie Thames Powerlines is seeking a high-energy and passionate operations leader who can thrive and succeed as the vital connection between our field and lab resources, clients, manufacturers and industry partners in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess office and project management experience with strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will play an invaluable role to ensure the growth and profitability of the company for years to come. In addition you will be required to:

  • Meet IESO standards for the wholesale Electricity Market of Ontario
  • Develop and maintain systems and procedures to ensure quality metering services
  • Train Meter Technicians and Apprentices on meter products and software
  • Supervise direct reporting staff according to overall company policy
  • Coordinate activities of Meter Technicians
  • Coordinate division budgets, achieve division productivity and goals
  • Enhance the company profile by engaging in activities such as attending trade shows and conferences and by building relationships within the industry decision makers
  • Maintain and promote safe working practices throughout divisions
  • Track project deliverables, plan and schedule resources meet time lines and provide operational reports
  • Any other duties as assigned

 

About you:

The successful candidate will possess the following key attributes:

  • College diploma in related technical programs. Electrical Engineering/ Technologist Diploma as a minimum, Journeyman Meter Tech, Business training, Management training with five to ten years utility experience, 3 years supervisory experience
  • Familiar with IESO Market Rules, Measurement Canada, business, finance, safety standards, Engineering technology principles and practices
  • Impeccable attention to detail is required
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and problem solve
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint proficiency
