North Bay Hydro Services Inc., an affiliate of North Bay Hydro Distribution Ltd., provides a wide-range of energy efficient products, services, and support. A truly innovative group working to be at the forefront of the sector by building and operating leading edge generation products. Also providing a range of other products and services from Rinnai tankless gas water heaters that provide instant hot water, to energy efficient outdoor lighting, energy savings measures and energy conservation projects. 

Under the direction of the Plant Operator Supervisor, the Plant Operator is responsible for back up plant operations and maintenance of the power plant facilities as well as assisting other North Bay Hydro Services Inc. business segments. 

Minimum Qualifications Required: 

• Grade 12 Secondary School Graduation Diploma 
• 4th Class Operating Engineer 
• Comprehensive technical knowledge and experience related to electric power generation and distribution systems including mechanical, electrical, thermal and chemical technical disciplines 
• Normally 5 to 10 years of related industry experience in thermal energy, reciprocating engine and co-generation power plants 
• Knowledge of landfill gas utilization systems and spark ignited reciprocating engines would be an asset 
• Intermediate skills in the use of computer software programs for word processing and spreadsheets 
• Intermediate skills in problem solving, and organization 
• Able to work alone and in a group environment 
• Ability to be on an on-call rotation, including nights and weekends 
• Able to lift, use tools, load and unload, and carry materials up to 50 pounds 
• Effective written and verbal communication skills 
• Valid class “G” driver’s license with a good driving record
