Technical Sales Representative

Power Source Instruments Ltd. is a leading distributer of custom high voltage instrumentation for the electrical utility industry.

The Technical Sales Representative will report to the National Sales Manager and will establish, maintain and develop relationships with existing clients as well as actively participate in the development of the organization by soliciting target clients. This is attainable through effective management and visits to customer sites across Canada. The ideal candidate has experience building professional relationships with various levels in any organization, from Meter Technicians to Presidents. He/she will also be service driven, develop new client bases and be highly interested in the multiple product lines available to the utility industry.

Responsibilities:

Current Clients: Service and Support

  • In collaboration with our team of experts, develop and maintain lasting relationships with various client representatives by providing support and solutions.
  • Increase business opportunities by displaying a desire to improve customer service processes.
  • Evaluate and constantly reassess customer needs and offer innovative solutions adapted to their specific requirements and projects.
  • Offer quality support for which he/she is responsible, responds to demands and finds solutions.

Business Development:

  • Proactively target potential clients and connect with them in person, by phone, and social media.
  • Promote business development by finding new prospects with target volume potential.
  • Actively contribute to the sales strategy, evaluate needs, find solutions, follow up on open cases and prepare proposals and presentations for clients.

Other responsibilities:

  • Follow health and safety rules and regulations at all times.
  • Complete urgent and unexpected tasks on-call and outside regular business hours.
  • Develop a high level of industry and application expertise that benefits targeted clients and their projects.
  • Others tasks as required

Education:

  • Post-secondary education in electrical field or equivalent and/or experience equivalent
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Knowldege of Marketing and Social Media an asset

Skills and Experience:

  • 3-5 years in Utility/Metering Industry
  • 3-5 years in business development
  • Experience selling specialized products in a related field
  • Have valid driver’s licence with clean abstract and own reliable vehicle
  • Excellent aptitude for developing and maintaining business relations
  • Ability to work independently and in a team toward common objectivesindee
  • Communication, self-motivated, proactive and perseverance
  • Professionalism and integrity

Work Environments

  • Ability to travel within Canada and the US about 30 % of the time
  • Work from home office
