LOCATE CLERK (MATERNITY LEAVE)

 

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this position is responsible for coordinating all of Burlington Hydro underground cable locates for the city of Burlington.  This position also responds to external and internal inquiries from customers, contractors and utilities.  This position will be asked to provide clerical support to the Engineering department.

KEY DUTIES:

  • Review and verify locates and prepare monthly reports
  • Respond to contractors, residential customers, builders and other utilities inquiries’ regarding locates; transfer inquiries to the appropriate department when required
  • Reconcile and identify any invoice discrepancies, make necessary revisions and attach proof of discrepancies/revisions
  • Retrieve and input data; summarize and submit report of Engineering statistics for underground cable locates
  • Retrieve and send Peak Historic Demand reports at customers request
  • Perform administrative duties associated with electric vehicle charging station programs, fleet maintenance, station maintenance, and powerline department activities
  • Perform other miscellaneous clerical duties upon request, such as faxing/scanning, distributing mail, photocopying and ordering supplies
  • Act as a backup to the Engineering Clerk to perform essential duties

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will have the following: 

  • Post-Secondary diploma would be an asset
  • Excellent customer service skills, strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Computer knowledge at intermediate level with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; a good work ethic with a positive approach to work and coworkers
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality
  • Demonstrated interest in process improvements
  • Able to work independently
