Energy+ Inc. is seeking an experienced Engineer in Training or Project Engineer in our Engineering department. You will be responsible for the design of overhead and underground distribution projects in a cost effective and safe manner utilizing information obtained from the System Control Centre, Operations and the Geographical Information System (GIS). You will provide reliable and cost-effective materials, equipment and construction methods to the utility in compliance with ESA O.Reg.22/04. This includes the support of writing technical specifications, updating and maintaining subdivision, material, and construction specifications, and framing standards. You will approve third-party make-ready work and subdivision drawings and review and comment on Committee of Adjustment submissions. You will conduct Economic Evaluation reviews including assembling all work order costs; metering and returned transformer costs; annual average load; operating and maintenance costs; and preparation of the required paperwork for the Finance Department and conduct ice/wind loading analysis using PLS CADD software and electrical analysis using Synergi.
We will require a minimum of three years’ experience at a Distribution Electric Utility and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical and eligibility for registration in Ontario as a Professional Engineer. You must also have a valid Class "G" Ontario driver's license. We are looking for an individual with strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills with experience in project planning, project management and project construction preferably with the utility sector. Efficient computer use, familiarity with Microsoft Office and database query tools is also essential.
