Alectra Inc., through its subsidiary Alectra Utilities Corporation, serves approximately one million homes and businesses across an 1,800 square kilometre service territory comprising 17 communities in the Greater Toronto Area and vicinity. Alectra’s goal is to be their customer’s energy ally and to discover the possibilities of energy conservation and new technologies for enhancing the quality of life in the communities they serve. It is within this context that Alectra is now searching for their next Vice President, Regulatory Affairs.

The Vice President, Regulatory Affairs (VP) is accountable for providing strategic, senior level oversight and support to all aspects of regulatory processes within a business regulated by the Ontario Energy Board. The role is accountable for all regulatory processes including regulatory filings, compliance, and related internal operational support. The role also acts as the Corporation’s Privacy Officer to ensure corporate compliance with privacy legislation.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the VP will counsel and confer with the Executive Committee (EC), EVP & CFO, and the CEO on financial, economic, political, and operational implications of current and evolving regulation with due regard for corporate strategy and compliance. They will be responsible to advise and make recommendations to the EC, SLT and the Board on rates and regulatory strategies. The VP will help foster a culture of customer centricity, where employees and the organization think about how their actions and decisions will affect the customer experience. Most of all, the VP will promote job performance and demonstrate leadership as a key contributor to enhancing the Company’s culture.

As the ideal candidate you have demonstrated experience in a leadership role involving strategic planning, successful change implementation, and supporting business growth such as new business opportunities and/or mergers and acquisitions. You have significant knowledge of the energy and utilities industries, including a solid understanding of the regulatory environment. You are a collaborator, build high-performing teams and develop effective stakeholder relationships. Your excellent analytic skills, track record of influencing senior business leaders, and strong executive presence will serve you well in taking on this exciting opportunity.
