This position is responsible for supporting various work groups including Engineering, Operations and Administration. 

Key Duties:    

Assist various work groups as follows: 

  • Assist the Materials Handler with day-to-day duties, including Stores
  • Provide Back-up support for Material Handler functions
  • Conduct Cycle Counts and with inventory and organizing of stock
  • Support job sites including delivery & return of materials or vehicles
  • Routine maintenance in stores, office complex and yard
  • Assist with loading/unloading of materials and equipment
  • Washing/cleaning vehicles
  • Landscape maintenance
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
  • Plus other duties as may be required
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes and advise supervisor of risks within business processes

Skills, Abilities, Education: 

  • Successful completion of Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or recognized equivalent
  • Must possess and maintain a valid class G drivers’ license with an excellent driving record with ability to obtain DZ within one year of hire.
  • Some related work experience an asset
  • Forklift operator experience an asset
  • Physically fit to perform position responsibilities, able to lift heavy objects (not in excess of 50lbs) and mobility/flexibility required
  • Ability to safely use a full range of hand and power tools, specific to the work, with an aptitude for mechanical/electrical work
  • Must be willing to work in various outdoor and indoor work environments
  • Good organizational skills
  • Knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Good communication skills and a team player
