ENWIN Utilities Ltd. is currently accepting applications for the position of:

Hydro Engineering Technologist

(Hourly Rate $30.86 - $38.58)

 

Reporting to the Manager Engineering, the successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating, inspecting and managing projects from initial customer request to final completion adhering to all deadlines and time constraints. The duties include but are not limited to: designing electrical distribution for overhead, underground and streetlight hydro infrastructure; analysing, troubleshooting and evaluating system failures; checking results, controlling costs and evaluating performance of crews and contractors; preparing budgets for capital work projects; updating of all maps and records of electrical distribution system; preparing tender drawings and documents. 

Hours of work will be 7:15 am ā€“ 3:45 pm. 

The successful applicant must possess the following qualifications: 

  • Must be a graduate of a three (3) year Electrical/Electronic Technologist Program from a recognized Community College or possess a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T. Electrical/Electronic Technology) designation from O.A.C.E.T.T., at the time of application.
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical and civil engineering technologies and construction methods for constructing hydro plants.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers, other departments, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to read and understand maps, blueprints, schematics, and legal documentation.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and/or with minimal supervision.
  • Class ā€˜Gā€™ Drivers Licence.
  • Fluent in various office software packages including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel). Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, ERP, NorthStar, SpidaCalc, SmartDraw, and/or MeterSense would be an asset. Candidate must be willing and able to update skills as new software becomes available. 

As a prerequisite, it is a requirement to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Fully vaccinated means that you have received two doses of a two-dose vaccine or have received one dose of a one-dose vaccine, and at least fourteen days have elapsed since receiving the last dose.
