About the Role

Financial Services Coordinator

We are looking for a dynamic individual with exceptional customer service skills. Working in a fast-paced, and customer-centric environment, the Financial Services Coordinator is accountable for maintaining and controlling the Accounts Payable cycle for Oakville Hydro and the group of companies. The position also ensures prompt and efficient entry of supplier invoices ready for payment so as to ensure payment due dates are met and cash terms are realized.

Duties include:

  • Maintain and operate the Accounts Payable System which includes inputtingng invoices into the system and handling cheques or Electronic Fund Transfers for suppliers
  • Review data entry to ensure accuracy and resolve any outstanding data entry issues which may occur
  • Ensure that the Accounts Payable policy guidelines are followed
  • Identify and work to create efficiencies within the current system 
  • Reconcile accounts Payable Vendor Statements monthly 
  • Respond to internal and external phone calls, questions, and information requests regarding Accounts Payable 
  • Work in compliance with all health and safety and environmental legislation including, but not limited to, the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and Oakville Hydro Policies and Procedures.  It is the responsibility of the employee to obtain applicable health and safety information from the Company intranet site or your manager 
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager 

Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • Post-secondary Accounting Courses
  • Displays keen attention to detail and can prioritize accordingly in a demanding and fast-paced environment
  • Has strong planning, and problem-solving skills with a clear focus on the delivery of excellent customer service
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in an Accounts Payable role
  • Experience within a utility environment is considered an asset
  • Proficient Computer skills with MS office suite of product (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Experience working with Great Plains would be considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of corporate systems, policies and procedures including knowledge of basic functions of different areas of the business
