Entegrus requires a Business Systems Support (Technician). Reporting to the Manager of Information Technology, this position provides day-to-day user software and hardware support. The position also conducts research and provides recommendations for new solutions, as well as installing and implementing those solutions.  

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Provide day-to-day software and hardware user supporting, including monitoring and resolving tickets in a timely fashion;
  • Administer and configure various security systems/equipment for Entegrus including cyber security, physical security and technological security;
  • Maintain Active Directory, including setting up new users, enabling and disabling accounts;
  • Administer desk/mobile phone communications including hardware, software, licensing and liaising with providers;
  • Provide technical support to the Entegrus Data Centre and its customers through activities such as monitoring and configuring the SCADA system;
  • Develop and maintain corporate images for all systems and users, as well as initiating approved updates;
  • Provide administrative support to the Customer Information System (C.I.S.) and its ancillary applications;
  • Contact and co-ordinate with vendors for hardware and software solutions to support corporate initiatives;
  • Set up training environments or logistical details for meetings and conferences; and,
  • Other duties as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Education: Completion of a three-year College Diploma in Computer/Information Systems
  • Experience: A minimum of three years of job-related experience
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of network fundamentals, server infrastructure and configuration, smart phone, computer applications and hardware as well as security configuration and setup protocols. Working knowledge of database principles, ERP applications and reporting. An understanding of data centre operations in terms of the linkages of the technical and mechanical aspects of the business.  
  • Skills: Must have exceptional customer service skills in a team environment. Must have strong organizational, proven trouble-shooting skills and ability to leverage internal and external resources.
  • Other: Must have the ability to self-prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a time sensitive nature. Must possess an understanding of confidentiality and respect for the privacy of the Company and individuals. Must possess and maintain a valid Class G Driver’s Licence with an acceptable driver’s abstract.

The successful applicant will be a self-motivated individual with the demonstrated ability to work as a team player and ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures.  

This is a full-time union position based on the IBEW Collective Agreement. Current hours of work are from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, with a 60-minute unpaid lunch with periodic overtime required. The Business Systems Support role is required to be on-call, on a rotational basis, to assist with after hour emergencies.
