Under the direction of the Vice-President, Engineering, the Distribution Coordinator, will be responsible for providing technical expertise and engineering skills to assist with the planning and design of the distribution system and implementation of utility's capital expansion, operations, and maintenance programs. 

This position is suitable for recently graduated engineers in training (EIT) looking to pursue an exciting career in electric utilities and will provide a variety of practical experience in the field.

Duties include:

• Technical analysis to identify the need for system expansions, planning system expansions, project management and preparation of reports that ensure the efficient and reliable operation of the distribution system.
• Ensure all plans and specifications meet the requirements of Ontario Regulation 22/04, and all other applicable industry standards and codes
• Coordinate and assist in the development of operations and maintenance programs
• Preparation of tendering documents for maintenance, construction, and consulting services.
• Preparation of various engineering documents, recommendations, directives, & procedures
• Assist in the implementation of North Bay Hydro’s Distribution System Plan (DSP)
• Consult with customers / communities on publicly sensitive issues such as construction and maintenance activities related to vegetation management and line relocations.

• Leadership capabilities to provide guidance to the Operations Section and supervision to the Engineering Section.

• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

Minimum Qualifications Required:

• 4-years bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university
• Eligible for membership in the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO)
• Understanding of utility's distribution systems and related construction materials and methods would be consider an asset.
