ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN/TECHNOLOGIST

Milton Hydro is looking for an Engineering Technologist to join our Engineering team.  As an integral part of our team this position will prepare plans and orders to connect commercial, industrial and residential customers to Milton Hydro’s distribution plant. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Completion of a 3 year technology diploma from a recognized community college in the electrical discipline.
• Registered with the Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) in the electrical discipline, or eligible for registration.
• Valid Ontario Driver’s License Class G with a good driving record.
• Knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, E&USA rulebook and applicable regulations.
• Strong communicator, excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills.
• Prior experience in the design of overhead and underground distribution system, up to and including 27.6 kV, will be considered an asset.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare overhead and underground electrical distribution system design, up to and including 27.6 KV.
• Prepare construction drawings using AutoCAD, engineering estimates and allocate material as they relate to engineering design.
• Prepare overhead and underground service and metering connection orders.
• Liaise with the Town of Milton, the Region of Halton, other Utilities, Customers, Developers and Contractors related to the design and construction of projects.
