POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Supervisor of Information Technology we are looking to hire an IT Support Analyst on a 12-month contract. The IT Support Analyst has overall responsibility for providing support to the internal team at Milton Hydro for all IT helpdesk requests.  This role is responsible for identifying solutions, coordinating, and interacting with other staff to ensure system availability and to manage helpdesk Service Level Agreements. 

KEY DUTIES 

Enterprise Helpdesk & Workstation Support

  • Provide 1st level technical support for users
  • Service end user desktop software and computer related equipment
  • Configure PCs
  • Resolve end user questions and problems about software and equipment
  • Resolve problems in a timely fashion as per departmental SLAs
  • Track support requests and keep the user up-to-date with request status
  • Perform routine system maintenance and housekeeping
  • Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis

Server Administration

  • Perform monitoring of Windows server operations, job scheduling and system errors
  • Monitor and maintain daily, weekly and monthly backups of the Milton Hydro environment

Other Duties

  • Assist in fact gathering for projects
  • Report and application development in .NET, ASP and SQL
  • Documentation of IT processes and policies as assigned
  • Participate in team meetings as required
  • Perform IT administrative duties as delegated 

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • System administration experience with emphasis on Windows Server
  • Knowledge of desktop software such as: MS Windows, MS Office
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and use SQL (Microsoft SQL Server)
  • Programming knowledge in .NET and ASP an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills is a must
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and multitask within expected deadlines is important
  • Proven safety mindset

EDUCATION

  • A college diploma or degree in computer science or equivalent
