Grand River Energy is an energy project developer, owner, and operator jointly owned by two of Ontario’s largest electric utilities, Enova and GrandBridge. OPPORTUNITY OVERVIEW

We are seeking an energetic and dedicated individual to join us as the Manager, Solutions & Project Delivery. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in steering Grand River Energy's involvement in the local energy transition, integrating low carbon thermal technologies, renewable energy, energy storage, and fleet electrification. Reporting directly to the President and CEO, you will ensure a streamlined client experience, guiding them from the initial inquiry through project execution and handover to the operations team. This cross-functional role will integrate entrepreneurial, strategic, and analytical thinking, along with project management, technical expertise, industry experience, and a natural curiosity to expedite our project development and delivery cycles.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Development & Solutions/Applications Engineering

  • Collaborate with external sales and business development for new opportunities.
  • Manage solution ideation with technology partners and SMEs to develop and refine conceptual solutions.

Proposal and Contract Management

  • Create and deliver proposals and qualifications for procurement processes.

Client Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients for long-term portfolio-level solutions.
  • Act as an internal advocate for clients to ensure a smooth transition to steady-state operations.

Project Delivery

  • Manage project charter, resourcing, procurement, scheduling, budget, and quality.
  • Directly handle or oversee project coordinator(s) in project management tasks.

Financial & Contract Management

  • Manage project financial activities and associated client and vendor contracts.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive the lessons learned process for superior project and client relationship outcomes.
  • Identify new products, technologies, and services to improve client solutions.

Marketing & Communications

  • Develop and deliver presentations at project meetings, industry events, and conferences.
  • Attend events and trade shows as a brand ambassador.

Team & Organizational Development

  • Coach and mentor project team members, staff in training, and co-op students.
  • Take an active role in building and shaping the organization and culture. 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s or Engineering Technology Diploma in a technical field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering).
  • 3+ years of relevant experience within the renewable energy or industrial sector in engineering, technical product/project management, business process development
  • Experience in the development and/or operations of energy infrastructure, industrial/facility operations, and/or fleet operations.
  • Familiarity with the renewable energy landscape, including utilities, EPCs, third-party O&M organizations, asset owners, asset managers, and hardware/software vendors.
  • Technical writing, proposal writing, and RFP response experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to derive creative solutions to complex problems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to connect with stakeholders at all levels within an organization.
  • Process-oriented with a growth mindset; ability to perform as an individual contributor and as a project coordinator to facilitate teamwork between multiple stakeholders
  • Proven track record of high performance in a fast-paced environment. 

WORK LOCATION

You will be based out of our Kitchener head office.  Work activities will include a requirement to work in office, remote or at customer sites.
