Milton Hydro Distribution Inc. serves over 31,000 customers within the Town of Milton. This beautiful, historic town, one of the fastest growing communities in the country, is located in south central Ontario within the Region of Halton.
IT SYSTEMS ANALYST
This full-time management position reporting to the IT Systems Specialist will work with IT staff to:
- Provide technical support for computer systems and components including system enhancements, hardware and software upgrades to ensure reliable and secure operations of multiple software packages.
- Support all aspects of Milton Hydro’s corporate network. This includes configuration, deployment, and support of all clients, servers, network devices, and applications.
- Provide administration and maintenance of Microsoft SQL, Oracle, and MySQL databases.
- Act as a technical support contact for business, customer service, financial, and engineering design software applications.
- Assist in maintaining Asterisk based VoIP telephone system.
- Provide technical leadership in evaluating, recommending, and implementing hardware and software solutions to meet business needs.
- Develop reports for various software packages to meet business needs.
- Duties are subject to evolve over time.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science or Information Technology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong customer service skills.
The ideal candidate will also possess:
- Experience of front-line support with Microsoft Enterprise technologies such as Active Directory, Exchange, IIS, System Center Data Protection Manager.
- Knowledge of internet technologies including Microsoft .Net, HTML, and XML.
- Experience with Dell servers and network switches.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL, Oracle and MySql databases
The successful applicant will be required to work a regularly scheduled shift during normal business hours. Occasional time outside of normal working hours (typically weekends) to deal with emergencies, upgrades, and testing may be required.
