Engineering Legal Coordinator (6-month contract)

GrandBridge Energy is hiring a 6-month Engineering Legal Coordinator. 

This position will be responsible for: 

  • Negotiate, prepare, process, and manage easements and quit claim deeds.
  • Prepare, process, and manage residential Development Agreements.
  • Maintain status of Subdivisions to ensure compliance with Agreements.
  • Process pertinent data required to maintain Distribution Transformer status for Developer transformers.
  • Sign-off Capital Work Orders for GBE transformer installations/ removals.
  • Investigate inquiries for unregistered easements, rights of way, compliance with Development Agreements, by field checks, records search, and reference with municipalities, O.L.S. and other sources.
  • Advise Accounting Dept. of Capital Contribution disbursements for Residential Development Work Orders and instruction for invoicing.
  • Review CIS EEP Residential Subdivision report for accuracy – calculate EEP rebates for residential and new residential projects.
  • Process and manage Railway Agreements, including recommending approval of related invoices, initiating new agreements, verifying existing leases, coordinating, flagging for Operations Department, field check, as necessary.
  • Prepare correspondence for conditions of approval for Draft Plans of Subdivision, including letters of compliance, Zone change Applications, Official Plan Amendments, Lane closures, road closures, Sign By-Law variances.
  • Prepare documents/legal plans to create file record for Registered Plans of Subdivision, reference plans, easements, development agreements.
  • Responsible for providing comments on behalf of GBE to local and regional levels of government with respect to land use and planning issues.
  • Close work orders 

We are looking for  an individual with exceptional communication, planning, problem solving and interpersonal skills. You must be able to manage resources effectively, multitask, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure. Excellent computer skills with proven expertise within the MS Suit is required. A 2-year college diploma with exposure to Provincial or Municipal Acts and By-laws is considered an asset. Knowledge of legal procedures affecting land, and an understanding of applicable Regulations as they pertain to the electricity deregulated market is considered an asset.
