Haldimand County Hydro Inc., a progressive electricity distribution company serving 21,400 customers throughout the Municipality of Haldimand County, has an immediate opening for the following full-time contract position:

Financial Analyst Contract Position

6 Month Contract (Possible Extension to be Determined)

Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, this contract position will be responsible for assisting with payroll and group benefits processing; the preparation of financial statements and variance analysis; and compliance with legislative and regulatory reporting requirements.  Duties to include manual and computerized data input; financial calculations, general ledger transactions and account reconciliations; preparing government remittances and related correspondence; accounts payable relief; and completing ad-hoc financial reporting projects.   

The successful applicant will have, as a minimum, a post-secondary three year business diploma, pursuing (or completion of) a professional accounting designation, complemented by at least five years of current related experience.  This is in addition to advanced computer skills in a Windows environment, utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, and Great Plains/Dynamics applications.  Knowledge of the regulated electricity distribution industry would be considered an asset.
