We are currently seeking a collaborative individual to join our team as an Infrastructure Analyst, Information Technology.

The Enova IT department supports 300+ staff, two office locations as well as several other physical locations across the Waterloo Region Grid. Working in this role will give you unique exposure to IoT, on-premise data centers, cloud and open-source technologies.

Position Summary

  • Reporting to the Manager of IT Infrastructure this position is responsible for the overall health and maintenance of all digital systems within Enova which includes but is not limited to storage, computing, security, and communications.

Experience/Education

A 4-year university degree in computer sciences with a focus on infrastructure, networking, and security and 1-2 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Preferred Skills/Abilities

  • Business systems experience preferably in a utility environment with a strong understanding of enterprise system requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge of operating systems, virtual machines, firewall configuration, VPN communications, telecommunications, and computer resource management.
  • Advanced knowledge of network and system security knowledge.
  • Advanced knowledge of data storage, backup/recovery and disaster recovery best practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of identity management with an understanding of policy design and configuration.
  • Knowledge or certification as a CISSP and/or OSCP as well as experience with open-source software is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of the regulated Ontario Energy Board (OEB) market, especially the OEB Cyber Security Framework.
  • Self-directed learning and research with the ability to consume and learn new technologies with demonstrated creative thinking when approaching research, problem-solving and troubleshooting.
