HUMAN RESOURCES CO-ORDINATOR

Entegrus Powerlines, operates and maintains electricity distribution systems for over 60,000 customers in Southwestern Ontario. We are committed to operating with local values in mind, while delivering safe, reliable, and exceptional service to our customers, partners, and communities. 

Entegrus requires a Human Resources Co-ordinator for its Chatham Office.  Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this role works in tandem with the Human Resources team and senior leadership to administer HR programs and benefits and acts as a primary contact point on HR matters.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain strong working relationships with employees and understand perspectives and objectives;
  • Co-ordinate recruitment activities in accordance with hiring policies/processes and participate in conducting interviews;
  • Co-ordinate labour relations matters and maintain appropriate documentation;
  • Assist with the co-ordination and delivery of new employee orientation and other Human Resources initiatives;
  • Assist in the administration of employee benefit plans, including responses to employee and retiree queries;
  • Co-ordinate with personnel agencies, background check service providers and other services providers as needed;
  • Review, code and approve benefits invoices, as well as other service provider invoices;
  • Research new HR regulations and developments and assist with the launch of new HR projects and initiatives;
  • Administer the non-union payroll time-keeping and exception process, co-ordinate WSIB filings and assist with administration of the annual performance evaluation processes; and,
  • Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Must possess a post-secondary college diploma, or a university degree, with a specific concentration in Human Resources
  • Experience: At least 3 years of Human Resources experience (with preference for experience in a unionized environment).  Experienced at interacting with and coordinating with management.  A fundamental understanding of the departmental operations of a utility is preferred.
  • Knowledge: Must possess an understanding of labour relations and collective agreements. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, payroll systems and document management systems (i.e., Sharepoint)
  • Skills: Must have excellent people skills, including tact and active listening skills.  Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.  Must be flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient.  Must have strong judgement and the ability to balance corporate objectives with labour relations and mutually beneficial employee relationships.
  • Other: Must possess a Class G Driver’s Licence with an acceptable Driver’s Abstract.

The regular hours of work are from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., daily. Periodic travel within the Entegrus service territory to support other operational centres (i.e., St. Thomas office) is also required. This is a salaried position and includes compensation and benefits in accordance with the company’s non-union benefit program.
