EnWin Utilities Ltd. is currently accepting applications for the position of:

 

Supervisor, System Automation and Maintenance (SAM) & Distribution

 

Reporting to the Manager Hydro Distribution, the successful applicant will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of protective elements associated with EnWin Utilities’ electrical distribution system as well as construction and maintenance of EnWin’s distribution infrastructure. This will include formulating and administering maintenance programs related to all EnWin distribution assets and MTS installations, SCADA-controlled equipment, automated switchgear, reclosers and other electrical plant and equipment.  It is the responsibility of the Supervisor, SAM & Distribution to ensure that crews under his/her direction function safely, efficiently and effectively and that projected budgets and schedules are met. 

The successful applicant must possess the following qualifications: 

    • Must possess a valid Electrician’s licence, Electronic Technologist Diploma or equivalent from a recognized college coupled with  Protection and Control experience. 
    • Experience in maintaining SCADA networks and high voltage electrical equipment. 
    • Ability to work on an on-call basis or on varying shifts and in all types of weather. 
    • Successful completion of management development courses and/or demonstrated equivalent management or business experience will be considered an asset. 
    • Demonstrated leadership ability in circumstances requiring tact, diplomacy, creativity and conflict resolution skills. 
    • In depth knowledge of safety equipment, procedures and, rules and a proven commitment to developing and promoting safe work practices. 
    • Ability to assess hazards related to work assigned to crews and ensure appropriate barriers and measures are taken to protect staff from them. 
    • Ability to resolve problems, assess needs and delegate work in a manner that motivates others and builds on their skills. 
    • Demonstrated awareness of current business issues, trends and priorities. 
    • Skill and aptitude with personal computers and business software packages. 
    • Minimum valid class D (DZ an asset) Driver’s License.
