OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR

Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Operations Supervisor coordinates and supervises personnel and work sites for the Operations Department. This position executes construction and maintenance activities in a safe and cost-effective manner. It assists the Vice-President, Engineering & Operations, and the Distribution Engineer in optimizing asset performance and lifespan.  

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of maintenance, construction, and service crews and ensure efficient staffing for regular, overtime, and on-call activities.
• Enforce safety standards, including OHSA and EUSR regulations. Develop and maintain an employee safety program.
• Evaluate staff performance, provide coaching, and ensure proper training.
• Ensure tasks are timely and within budget. Identify opportunities to reduce operational costs.
• Minimize customer disruptions and resolve construction, maintenance, and outage complaints.
• Maintain completed job records, conduct regular crew visits, and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

• Journeyman Lineman certification and 10+ years in the electrical utility industry, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems and safety standards. Familiarity with SCADA systems is an asset.
• First Aid, CPR, and relevant certifications are required.
• Valid Class DZ driver’s license.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
