Entegrus Powerlines Inc. a progressive company dedicated to providing the highest level of service and a safe and positive work environment requires a GIS Supervisor. Reporting to the Systems Planning Engineer, this position will oversee the day-to-day operation and planning of the GIS systems, resolve issues of a technical nature and lead the GIS Analyst in achieving the overall goals of the department.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan the work of the department to ensure that company GIS priorities are met and maintained
Responsible for the development, configuration and availability of GIS related services, software and integrations
Work with the System Planning Engineer to co-develop the corporate vision and direction for GIS
Provide project management for new initiatives and projects including providing direction to consultants for development of tools and applications including managing project budgets
Provide technical expertise with respect to required hardware, software and data conversion techniques to the company
Monitor and assess problem situations to identify root cause, gather and process relevant information and resolve
Develop and maintain an understanding of the main business systems and related business processes in order to actively work with other functions including data extraction from multiple sources and creation of meaningful statistical reports
Maintain strong relationships with both internal and external resources, providing a consistent vision and direction within the team, with a focus on GIS and its development to achieve corporate goals. Provide and facilitate training and support for field and office end users.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Must possess a university degree in a related discipline
Experience: Minimum of three years of related experience, with at least one year of supervisory/leadership experience preferred
Knowledge: Must possess advanced academic and practical knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a GIS Department and the technologies to support it
This is a salaried position and includes compensation and benefits in accordance to the company’s Non-Union Benefit Program.
